This seminar provides students with a comprehensive overview of the business continuity management life-cycle process and step-by-step program management methodology. It is based on industry best practices and guidelines for the seven phases of business continuity program management:

Phase A: Program Initiation
Phase B: Program Planning
Phase C: Program Functional Requirements Analysis
Phase D: Program Design and Development
Phase E: Program Implementation and Testing
Phase F: Program Maintenance
Phase G: BC Plan Execution

Students will gain an understanding of each management phase and how to effectively plan, guide, and coordinate tasks and activities within each phase.

Why Take This Seminar or the BC-602 Advanced Management Workshop?

In addition to the BC-201 class, it is strongly recommend that all students take either the BC-602 Business Continuity Management Workshop (2-day workshop), or the BC-603 Business Continuity Management Seminar (3 hour seminar) on business continuity management.

Business continuity can be divided into two key areas: business continuity planning and business continuity management. Business continuity planning deals with the activities related to the six stages of the planning process (risk management, business impact analysis, strategy development, plan development, testing, and maintenance); while business continuity management is associated with the management of the business continuity plan development project and with the overall design, development, and implementation of an organization's business continuity program.

If you are a disaster recovery or business continuity coordinator involved with a business continuity planning project or have been tasked with responsibility for developing your company's disaster recovery plan or business continuity plan and program, then BC-201 and either BC-603 or BC-602 are perfect business continuity training courses.
